**Explore this beautiful forest that has lots to offer. **

In National Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug, the Cape Forests is located, in a forest full of beauty. This forest is great for hikes throughout the year. Walk over the winding paths under the trees, past monuments, an outlook tower, moorland and more.

The forest was given its name by the family Swellengrebel (who lived in Doorn in 1750). The moorland parts of the forest reminded them of South Africa, which is why they called the forest the Kaapse Bossen (Kaapstad being Dutch for Capetown), or Cape Forests.

There are different hiking routes you can choose from, which you can view on the official website.
