**Trek the treetop walkway, discover new hiking trails, and climb to the top of the lookout tower at the Outdoor Center Boomkroonpad. **

Climb to the top of the Boomkroonpad to walk at the top of the treetops! The Boomkroonpad is a fantastic 125 m (410ft) long and takes you across the beautiful treetops on a 15 minute journey. The tree top walk isn’t for those scared of heights. You’ll be 22 m (72 ft) in the air. You can’t turn back! But there are also walks and things to do for anyone scared of heights. Escape into the woodlands!

The outdoor centre is well-known to local trekkers and families, but has remained hidden to most tourists. Boomkroonpad is a starting point for many hiking and cycling routes

  • The Boomkroonpad is fairly short and doesn’t take long to complete. While it is the main highlight of the area, we recommend completing one of the hikes here to really make the visit to Drouwen worth it.
  • Along the Boomkroonpad are a couple of short information panels about the walk and area (in Dutch). They’re interesting to read if you know Dutch!
  • Climb to the top of the Boomkroonpad stairs for lovely views of the woodlands. Best seen in the autumn!
  • After the treetop walk, you’ll find the signposted free walking trails into the forest. The shortest walk here is 3 km. Along the walks through the woodlands, you’ll find dolmens (ancient burial grounds), wandering sheep, and beautiful views.
  • Kid friendly! The outdoor centre is also home to Lorken Play Forest. This large play area has swings, climbing areas, slides, and more for the kids to enjoy.
