Welcome to Dar Dallah *, Riad of the eighteenth century which now houses the Boucharouite Museum. Residence of lawyers for generations, this house is a reflection of the nobility of derb El Cadi, rue du Judge, which must
its name near the old prison of the medina, opposite the current fruit and vegetable market.
The Boucharouite Museum is dedicated to all forms of Popular Art:
- the iconography of His Majesty King Mohamed V (see description)
- engraved or painted residential doors
- carpets (see description sheet)
- agricultural tools: tribulum inlaid with flint or wrought iron (see descriptive sheet)
Made from traditional materials or techniques, these works are created by an individual or a group belonging to the so-called class
popular society (non-scholarly in the practice of his art); imbued with the artist's intimate and sensory experience, they reinvent the
daily.
The museum is mainly articulated around Boucharouites and Zindekh carpets, pure jewels of creativity woven or embroidered by women, artists
anonymous, from the recycling of their belongings. This unique collection is the result of a rigorous selection.
Some facilities, or rather winks, will also enhance your visit ("Mont Boucharouite alt.5m", "Orange juice" and "Balo du
Basketry ").
If these works were able to challenge and touch us, we hope they will not fail to amaze and seduce you.
Good stop in this oasis of tranquility!
The whole team of the Boucharouite Museum.
