The Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMVI) is part of a broad policy for the development and strengthening of Morocco's major cultural infrastructures. It is the first museum institution in the Kingdom to devote itself entirely to modern and contemporary arts, and also the first public institution to meet international museum standards.
The MMVI aims to cover the evolution of Moroccan artistic creation in the plastic and visual arts, from the early 20th century to the present day. Now, this era is that of two modern and contemporary cultures, which are not without maintaining links of rupture or renewal with the traditional artistic and cultural heritage of the country.
It is therefore this double aspect of the artistic heritage that the MMVI intends to preserve, animate and enrich in order to share it and make it better known to the Moroccan and international public.
