The castle is located in the territory of Bauska town, in the picturesque landscape on the stream between Musa and the River Mēmelis, not far from the place where the Lielupe is formed, merging into them. Bauska Castle ensemble consists of two parts. The oldest - Livonian Order Castle - was built in the middle of the 15th century, but until now remains only ruins. The newest - Duchy of Courland residence - was built in the late 16th century.

The castle is surrounded by a scenic scenery located in the territory of Bauska town, on a land strip between the rivers Musa and Mmele, not far from the place where the rivers meet to form the third river - Lielupe. The Bauska castle complex consists of two parts. The oldest of them - the Livonian Order Castle - was built in the middle of the 15th century, but only ruins have remained until nowadays. While the newest - residence of the Dukes of Kurzeme (Kurland) - was built at the end of the 16th century.
