This uncontaminated corner of the ancient "Gratum Solium", just outside the south gate of Milan, the realm of meadows and frogs It was inhabited for the first time in the thirteenth century by some monks and over time it underwent considerable transformations.

In the thirteenth century the building, already in its current form, was occupied by the Spaniards, who used it as a gendarmerie and later at the home of the "campè", the man who watched the waters of the rice fields.

Perhaps the latter came from the name Al Garghet, which in ancient Milanese dialect meant "the croaking of frogs". In our century the old gendarmerie was turned into a furnace and then into a door out of town.

Today the Garghet has recovered some of the ancient magic: history has given this place an extraordinary atmosphere, and we distill it every day in natural dishes, cooked according to the rules of the Lombard tradition, rich in many French and Austrian influences and Spanish.
