The territory of the Rubicon, between late September and early October 1944, both for its strategically important location for both the tactical evolution of the war along the Gothic Line, it was affected by a violent clash between the defensive lines Germany and the attack of the allied armies deployed on the Adriatic sector, which aimed to conquer the last bastion hill, in order to pour in Cesena flat.
What became known as the Battle of the Rubicon was, therefore, crucial for the breaching of the Gothic Line clothed and fundamental importance in the general context of the Italian Campaign.
The Rubicon '44 project stems from the desire to remember the tragic events of 1944 and determinants and stimulate an in-depth discussion around the memory of the war of the territory.
The Museum of the Front Rubicon '44 wants to be a starting point of this path thanks to the strong evocative power of direct contact with the memorabilia, uniforms, documents and images of the period.
