Pescara

Once the core of the mighty Roman Empire, and the cradle of the Renaissance, it is also home to the greatest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world, including high art and monuments. The small villages dotting the hills and mountains of the backcountry (some of which reach an altitude of 2,500 metres) are full of charm. On the coast, fine sandy beaches give way to pebble beaches as one travels southward. The region is quite sparsely populated as a result of its history of emigration, but it has been able to rebound economically by focusing on agriculture and industry. Its culinary arts are highly developed, using an abundance of lamb, the local Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wine, cheeses and many different types of biscuits and pastries.

The Mediamuseum was founded in 1995 on the centenary of the birth of cinema, with the aim to promote knowledge, study and promotion of creativity in the performing arts. The exhibition focuses in particular on the areas of cinema, theater and television, with thematic rooms dedicated to the work of such illustrious Pescara D'Annunzio, and Flaiano Cascella. There are available a wide collection of machinery, posters, photos, sketches, memorabilia and much more.

The museum is not just a collection of artifacts of memory, but a key center of activity. It offers daily workshops about cinema, theater classes and cultural events. It entitles the Flaiano Club, also you can enjoy all the services of the regional media center, which consists of a library, a newspaper library, a photo library, a manifestoteca, a tape and a multimedia classroom.
