Once the core of the mighty Roman Empire, and the cradle of the Renaissance, it is also home to the greatest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the world, including high art and monuments. Italy is famous for its delicious cuisine, it's trendy fashions, luxury sports cars and motorcycles, diverse regional cultures and dialects, as well as for its various sceneries from the seas to the Alps and Apennines, all reasons why it got nickcoded Il Bel Paese (the Beautiful Country). One of the great things about Italy is that its long thin shape means that when you get fed up with sightseeing you are often a relatively short distance from a beach. In many of the more popular areas, large sections of beach are reserved as paid beaches. Italy is full of differents cultures you can see: Etruscan Italy, The Greek influence, Roman ruins, Christian Italy, The Byzantine cities and The Renaissance.

From the vast plains near Foggia to the Baroque town of Lecce, by way of the commercial port of Bari on the Adriatic coast, we can find traces of a history that has seen the region pass from the rule of the Roman Empire to that of the Byzantines, only to be occupied by the Normans during the period when they reigned over the Kingdom of Sicily. It is for the most part a rural and agricultural zone, enlivened by popular village festivals that take place throughout the year. While not a particularly extroverted or exuberant part of Italy, it reveals its treasures to those who take the time to discover and experience it.

Our residence, in an elegant 17th century building in the medieval district of Bitonto, offers an intimate and refined atmosphere.
Il Cimiero, where hospitality, courtesy and family atmosphere are reconciled, boasts a strategic position in the heart of the historic center, a few steps from the majestic Romanesque Cathedral and the main historical and artistic itineraries of the city.
The National Gallery "De Vanna", the Gallery of Contemporary Art, the Archaeological Museum, the Angioino Tower, the characteristic alleys, the arches with vocational icons, the scenic beauty of the Balice blade are its setting.
The building once belonged to the rich Gallarate family, now owned by the Carano family, has on its façade a large stone crest on which a knight crest is carved, surmounted by a mythological figure of a winged dragon (defined by some griffins) ; in the lower part there is a shield with two branches of interwoven grapes, surmounted by a crown.
