Castellania (Castlanìa in Piedmontese) is a town in the Province of Alessandria, on the hills to the right of the Scrivia stream. With only 86 inhabitants (year 2008) it is the smallest municipality in the province and was established again in 1947 after having been, for 19 years, unified with the neighboring municipality of Carezzano. The great cyclist Fausto Coppi and his brother Serse were born there. Their birth house has been transformed into a museum and is the only tourist attraction of the tiny municipality (www.faustocoppi.it for information).
