Italo CALVINO wrote that a city does not enjoy seven or seventy wonders, but the answer it gives to your question.

A romantic reading key or if you prefer almost psychoanalytic of the journey and of the discovery, of oneself and of the world, which translates the special approach to the host which is imbued with the artistic welcoming dimension preferred by Boîte d'esprit.

Besides the cliche of the disposable bad and breakfast, the guest is almost whispered an invitation to the inner journey, a sentimental snapshot, a spiritual parable that inevitably becomes a spatio-temporal interruption with respect to the geometries of the urban and residential context.

Almost an unwritten question to which to find an answer within oneself, before deciding in which of the four different suggestions of interior design to make one's own mood travel.

It is along this emotional and experiential itinerary that are immediately revealed warp, plots and colors of the two suites: the N.1 in industrial style, dedicated to Pier Luigi NERVI, engineer and designer of international fame, author of great architectural works and the N. 2 inspired by Impressionism, dedicated to the most famous of its performers, Claude MONET.

And the two rooms: the N.3 in a bohemian atmosphere named after the famous Poet of symbolism, Charles BAUDELAIRE and the N.4, of a surrealist vocation identified with the name of the most dreamy and ironic of the painters of that avant-garde movement, Salvador DALÌ .

To stitch together, as in a single design in the plot, the four different de luxe settings and the separate sources of personal inspiration for the guest remains a trait d'union of design and style: the boiserie, the light color, the floor original bright, the semi-open bright wardrobes (with a sliding door), the decomposed baths and the handcrafted wooden cabinets, the green installations, the play of light, the white curtains, the vintage wooden chairs; an indispensable and sought after architectural and functional continuity that summarizes all the contours in a single environment, making it harmonious and familiar, domestic, almost intimate.

NERVI SUITE / 1. - Rhythmic by the use of iron (in homage to the great Italian Engineer who in the 40s of the last century patented the iron-cement), appears as framed by two handcrafted structures. On the one hand, a thin vertical iron mesh that visually separates, without wedging them, the entrance (functionally intended for the kitchen, with a table and the wardrobe) from the sofa bed, also designed and crafted. On the other hand, traces of iron in horizontal with descending installations of semi-natural green. Original suspension lamps with visible resistance, handmade wall sconces in iron on the wall and two urban photographs in black and white complete the industrial section of an essential environment that, through the sliding walls, becomes an elegant open space.

MONET / 2 SUITE - Almost wanting to evoke the imperceptible nuances of the famous Impression - Levar del Sole (1872) by the French Painter, from whose title derives the name of Impressionism, a sliding wall also made by hand, appears and disappears 'occurrence: separating the environment with the sofa bed, the services and the bathroom decomposed from the area with double bed, making it an open space of correspondences. The three reproductions of the Master of landscape painting and of en plen air painting insinuate in the guest the worm of imagination through which, looking from the window on the garden of olive trees and signs of the terroir, it will not be so difficult to catapult, with closed eyes, in the water lily pond of the Giverny house in Normandy, where MONET retired, painting his best known works.

Independent entrances guarantee a private entrance in both suites (1-2), equipped with whirlpool tubs, windows, corner fridge (with freezer) and kitchen with wooden table / console, which can be opened and doubled. La NERVI (1) also has access to the terrace, with a lawn.

Smaller but no less comfortable or less inspired by the NERVI and MONET suites, even the bohemian and surrealist rooms, through style and design, aspire to provoke a direct sentimental empathy.

ROOM BAUDELAIRE / 3 - The eight poems written by the writer of Les Fleurs du Mal, hung on the bedside tables as well as the imaginary window of one of the many cafés of Mitteleuropa of the nineteenth century, leave no way out: to the initial curiosity and, immediately after, to the thinking and fitting symbols and clues. For example, the wall-shaped wall lamps do not escape. Or, again, the bottles (of the pendant lamps) which, hanging from the roof, also physically represent a source of light But they stand there and in that way almost recall the famous Ballade des pendus (1489) by François VILLON. The guest is thus literally nailed into the topical atmosphere of the cursed poets, in the perimeter of a typical living room of a bohemian of yesteryear. Everything is left to be guided by correspondences.

DALÌ / 4 - If you feel less accustomed to industrial design, less inclined to grasp only the impressions of the real or intimately far from too romantic visions of society and the world, the Boîte d'esprit offers the most extravagant and less conventional minds a 'emergency exit. That the guest immediately appears such, different from the other 3 rooms, since the stylistic choice of the floor. Which, here, is not vintage. It's new. Or it's simply something else. It is enough to draw inspiration from the unconscious that for the surrealists as the Catalan artist represents the deepest and most true degree of reality. And just like the soft watches in his famous Persistence of Memory (1931), so the bombettes (pendant lights on the nightstands), the flock of electric blue birds literally attached to the roof and the green coming down from the ceiling in the bathroom try to undermine any rational certainty, strongly inviting to yield to the subjectivity of one's own perceptions.

Both rooms (3-4), with access to the terrace, are equipped with a hydromassage shower with a glass box.

All rooms are also equipped with a desk, espresso coffee machine, fridge and freezer, cups and utensils for breakfast, luggage racks, shower with hydromassage shower column, 5 large cushions, air conditioners, curtains, en-suite bathroom, thermal frames with double glazing, linen and cleaning service, green lawn on the terraces, design taps, handcrafted furniture and custom designed, vintage wooden chairs, green applications in the area dedicated to bathrooms and designer lamps.

To sign the interior design of Boîte d'esprit is the architect Francesca FELICE whose four original artistic installations, on the wall of the Reception together with the artistic chair, are a bit like a compass, whispering to the guest the key to timeless reading and unconventional of this B & B de luxe in the heart of the modern city.
