At the center of the medieval village of Tortorella, ancient fief of the counts Carafa, land of Scipione Rovito, to whom the homonymous square is dedicated, is La Posada de Juan y Marisol, an elegant hotel owned by the Lombardi family. In the name of Posada the past and the future of a generational change relive, which has its roots in the memory of the great-great-grandfather Giovanni Antonio Bello, who, after ten years spent in Mexico with the epithet of Don Juanito, returned home to invest his fortunes in the purchase of land and livestock to raise. The structure is housed in an ancient building dating back to 1885, with three independent entrances overlooking Via Colombo and Via Galiano respectively with gates of the era that still bear the old clapboard and bolts and ceilings from the old wooden beams. From the entrance door located in via Galiano it is possible to admire the ancient original stone staircase, which leads to the three rooms divided into three levels: the first, Rayo verde, with its two characteristic natural stone arches; the second, Piedra desnuda, with its characteristic stone walls; the third, Puesta del sol, with its elegant modern wooden staircase and the typical mansard ceiling, whose wooden beams seem to recreate the branches of a large tree. All three rooms are spacious, functional and finely furnished, with private bathroom with hairdryer, LCD TV, air conditioning, heating and wi-fi. Guests are welcomed in the small and lovely Sala de la Chimenea (fireplace room), a natural watershed between the rooms, where you can admire an ancient stone fireplace entirely recovered and working, in front of which to find comfort while sitting on the sofa in belle epoque style. On the ground floor, where once there was the "stiero", there is the Aurora dining room, dedicated to breakfast, with equipped kitchen and bathroom, which can be accessed through a nice and small wrought iron staircase below the which echoes an old completely reclaimed cistern, where rainwater once flowed. Tortorella is a small medieval village located on a steep hill overlooking the valley of the river Bussento. Ancient fief of the Counts Sanseverino, it was the expression of a refined society, which still today echoes in some palaces of the time, first of all the Baronial Palace of the Conti Carafa, now ruined. Immersed in the green and in the uncontaminated nature of the National Park of Cilento, Tortorella is known for its fortresses, its stone portals, for the courtyards, for the history of its gardens, for its pure springs, for the luxuriant vegetation of its woods, for the skill of its master craftsmen in the processing of wrought iron, wood and the art of embroidery. It is definitely worth visiting Porta Suctana, the ancient medieval village gate; the stone cross located at the edge of the provincial road; the remains of the ancient mills in the Bussento valley; The Mother Church of the Collegiate where the remains of the Holy Martyr Felix rest; the Church of S. Vito with its well; the Rupazzi road, the Chiesa Maria SS. Of the Martyrs. The country is a perfect compromise for those who love the mountains, but do not want to give up the pleasure of the sea from which it is about fifteen minutes by car. It is also equipped with a private pool managed by individuals, where you can have lunch or dinner or just a pizza. Although small, the country has free parking, football field with synthetic grass for lovers of football or even tennis, trails for lovers of trekking, playground for children, post office and finally the municipal pharmacy.
