In the center of Ciociaria on the Monte Reo hill, Il Giardino dei Mandorli is the link between past and future. It is a small village of the late 800, built on a territory that was part of the possessions of the Certosa di Trisulti. In ancient times these farmhouses housed families of farmers and ranchers, who lived there until the early 90s. During the Second World War it was the destination of many who, for fear or hunger, took refuge on the hill to try to escape the German soldiers. Many stories revolve around these houses, the most beautiful is perhaps a popular legend that tells of a group of brigands, who had chosen this place as a refuge and hiding place. It seems they hid and buried a pot full of gold coins in the exact spot from which you can see in all its beauty Civita di Alatri. Do the farmers and locals swear they have found shovels and picks on the spot? Thanks to a work of consolidation, restoration and conservation, the farmhouses have taken original forms and style. The walls in "exposed stone", the ceilings and wooden beams carefully restored and polished in wax, give a taste of other times to the whole environment, externally surrounded by an almond and crowned by a cypress wood. The ancient taste mixes and blends with the simple modernity and at the same time refined furnishings and colors.
