There are the megalithic tombs of Brú na Bóinne, older than the Egyptian pyramids, used as inspiration for some famous Celtic symbols that came later.

East Clare Golf Club opened the new clubhouse in 2001. A key feature of the design was the incorporation of the original stone walls of the old kitchen garden in the development. The spectacular view from the bar/restaurant and the balcony takes in the opening and turning holes of the course, as well as the rolling countryside and distant hills of Clare.
