Not far from this spiritual capital of India, one can find the historical towns of Sarnath and Kushinagar, two places where Gautama Buddha gave his first sermon and died respectively. For a truly unique experience, take a dip at the holy confluence of two rivers – Ganda and Yamuna at Allahabad. Here, every 12th year, Kumbh Meka Festival takes place gathering over 12 million Hindu pilgrims and making it largest gathering of worshipers in the world.
