The Museum of Csornai is a collection of local history and ethnographic values of Rábaköz, which presents the exhibition of two prestigious exhibitions of the Premonstraten Order of the Csornai Abbey with a classical late baroque monument building.
The permanent exhibit on the ground floor of the local history gives an insight into the past and the credentials of the Premonstrual canonical order in Csornai around 1180. We can get to know the XIX-XX. century. Beside the memories of Premontre scholars, King Ivan's memoir, a prominent scholar of Hanság's birdlife in the bourgeois school, is remembered for his study and instruments for her ornithological research. Besides the memories of the market town guilds and the cowboys fairs, the 100-year-old saddle shop, which is presented in an original form, provides contemporary insight into the world of century-old village retail. The 1900's room interior recalls small town civic lifestyle with artichoke porcelains, ornaments, dresses in contemporary costumes, and many photographs.
The special atmosphere of the XIX. We can get upstairs on the stairs of the 19th century, while we can admire finely crafted natural portraits on the etchings of Hertay Mária Munkácsy-winning graphic artist. On the floor, entering the ethnographic permanent exhibition, besides the relics of peasant life and farming, we can also gain insight into the clearances of a typical Rhodopean folk dwelling house. One of the painted furniture with its unique decorative decoration is a vase cabinet. The exhibited XVIII-XIX. Century carved master beams protect the centuries-old traditions of the area's sculpture culture. The carved bastards and the spanish works, which illustrate the unique carving style of the Rabbit shepherds, were made with serious artistic sensibilities. Workshops of folk craftsmen, decorated in the interior of the craftsmen's streets, showcase pottery, boots, craftsmanship and blue paintings. During the celebration of the farewell ceremony of Csornai, visitors can see the folk costumes of the holidays, the famous folk embroideries and the memories of the gingerbread craft. Particularly interesting are the exhibited pieces of the gold-threaded cowgirls of Csorná, preserved for many generations. The exhibition also presents the uniquely rich collection of pilgrimages and folk religion memories.
In the small hall connected to the corridor upstairs, Horváth Róbert is a permanent member of the amateur sculptor of Csornai. Clay-shaped and burnt-out artistic works - almost without exception - were inspired by archaeological finds in Covas, historical and ecclesiastical memories.
In the former library room decorated with the coat of arms of Premontre Abbey, Kunc Adolf's coat of arms, the monastery was at the head of the monastic order along with the portraits of the priests 18th-19th centuries. century gowns, ruins, and church treasures.
