In 1913, the Magyar Általános Kőszénbánya Részvénytársaság, under the Mining Act, started the construction of the Népház to satisfy the cultural and entertainment needs of miners, miners and workers. Since the opening of the generously planned and executed building in 1917, Tatabánya is today the most important cultural and cultural institution.
Theater activity was based on the Mining Stage founded in 1964. In 1989, the Komárom County Game Theater, which was Béla Éless, became the first state-sponsored, professional theater of Tatabánya called Népház Playstation. In 1994 the theater took up the name of Marias Jászai Mari (the name of the institution from the Mari Theater in Jászai, the Népház). After Béla Éless, Zoltan Zubornyák and László Sulyom Harsányi led the institution. During the renovation of the building during 2007-2009, it was enriched with architectural and mechanical innovations. In the past few years more than 1,200 actors have been present at the Jászai Mari Theater stage and nearly one hundred exhibitions of over 180 exhibits were seen by Tatabánya viewers. Numerous contemporary authors have also introduced and achieved significant professional and audience performances in the theater.
The Jászai Mari Theater in Tatabánya, the Népház is a local government-run budget institution. Considering that the only theater theater and program policy of the county, in accordance with its mission statement, treats elements of popular theater in a privileged place. The Jászai Mari Theater, the Néphouse, aims to function as a cultural institution that, besides the quality entertainment, plays playful, reflecting everyday problems, providing cathartic experiences. Taking advantage of the variety of playgrounds, the theater also has the opportunity to create large-scale productions of interest to wider audience groups, as well as to create performances that are presented in the chamber theater for experimental character, intimate atmosphere playgrounds or just because of their children's publicity. Taking all these into account, drama, contemporary Hungarian tragicomedy, comedy, musical, play, operetta, fairy tale, and music puppet play are all on the show.
Our theater focuses on the performance of children and youth audiences. It is important for the youngest - as much as possible - to enjoy the theatrical experience, so with 6 adult annual presentations there are 7-9 children's shows, which are unique in the country as well. In the framework of our Jászai Játszó family weekend program, children's theater, family concerts, playhouses, dance houses and handicrafts are waiting for families with children throughout the theater.
The Jászai Mari Theater is still an important venue for the city's community life. It organizes the Ball of the Elderly, hosts the Déva Gala, County Prima Primissima Prize donations, the Galaxies of the Miners' Dance Ensemble, the Show Formation Dance Ensemble, the Spring Festival Program, the Hungarian Culture Day Event, City and State Festivals, celebrations, fine art exhibitions.
As the only theater building in the county, the outstanding cultural role of the Jászai Mari Theater is that the number of viewers who visit the surrounding towns and small settlements is as significant as those arriving from the county seat.
The Local Government of Tatabánya County has also recognized the work done by establishing a company and providing the necessary financial resources so that the 25 years of the Jászai Mari Theater may have been the last major development point for starting the jubilee year with an independent public actor association a. The actors of the first group are: Csilla Bakonyi, Crespo Rodrigo, Lídia Danis, Balázs Dévai, Márta Egri, György Honti, Robert Kardos, Melinda Major, Attila Maróti, Zoltán Megyeri, Milán Schruff, Emilia Szabó, Péter Végh.
