Much of the country consists of peninsulas and islands in the Aegean, Ionian, and Mediterranean Seas. It borders Albania, the Republic of Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Turkey. A range of first class historic landmarks remind one of the days when the great Greek emperors and writers made their mark on the development of science, literature and democracy. No less than 17 of those monuments are listed as World Heritage Sites. However, the many charming little islands, sandy beaches and picturesque whitewashed coastal towns are at least as much a reason to come for the millions of tourists that this Mediterranean country receives each year.

Greece

Tripoli is the capital of the region and it is located in the central part of Peloponnese. This region is really famous for the beautiful coastline that surrounds it. Not only that, but also a big legacy of plenty of flock that lived in the region. One of the most impressive city of the region is Sparta. In this city you will find museums about about the old spartans and also  Mystras, an old forteresse of the spartans, which is today part of  UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is also an other really old town in the region called Corinth. In this city you can feel all the ancient legacy of the region with the temple of Apollo, the ancient theatre and the Glauke Fountain.
