Since 1993, the zeise cinemas in Hamburg-Ottensen have stood for sophisticated and at the same time entertaining program cinema in the unique ambience of a former ship propeller factory.

Surrounded by countless bars, cafes and restaurants, the Zeise Hallen are located in the heart of Hamburg's vibrant Ottensen district. Built in 1869 by Theodor Zeise, ship propellers have been made here for more than a hundred years and exported all over the world. Today, the rustic, brick-red industrial hall flair skilfully combines with modern glass-steel architecture. An environment that gives the Zeise cinemas a unique atmosphere. And makes the visit to the cinema an experience right from the start.

The award-winning program of the zeise cinemas includes sophisticated and at the same time entertaining film from Germany, Europe and the whole world. Diversity is catered for by three cinemas with a total of 523 seats on two levels. The largest hall alone has room for 367 spectators and is considered one of the most beautiful cinema halls in Germany.

The zeise cinemas have broken new ground with the series zeise latenight. Regularly in this row cultural events take place beyond the classical cinema program. These include poetry slams, readings, music specials and film series.

In summer, the zeise offers an open-air cinema in the Rathaus Altona courtyard.
