Welcome to the official Facebook page of the Pinneberg Museum!

The Pinneberg Museum is located in the center of Pinneberg, it is housed in the historic building of the "district court" from 1855 and thus comes from Danish times. Exhibition and collection focuses on regional issues, the city and the district of Pinneberg and Schleswig-Holstein. In addition to the city historical collection, the museum houses a large part of the estate of the artist Günther Thiersch (1914-1986), who lived in Pinneberg until his death. From the estate of the naturalist Johannes Görbing (1877-1946) comes a comprehensive historical collection of minerals and gems as well as a small "Chamber of Art and Curiosities" with rarities, which he has brought back from numerous trips. An extensive collection of ILO engines provides insight into an important area of the industrial history of the place. The factory produced in Pinneberg from 1913 to 1990 motors for worldwide export. The permanent history of the city history gives an overview of the development of Pinneberg from prehistoric and early history to the Schauenburg and the Danish period, the period of Prussia and the Weimar Republic to the time of National Socialism and World War II.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, there are interesting special exhibitions on a wide variety of topics.
