Bruchhausen-Vilsen

With about 82 million inhabitants, Germany is the most populous member state of the European Union. Germany's capital and largest metropolis is Berlin, while its largest conurbation is the Ruhr, with its main centres of Dortmund and Essen. You will have limitless sport opportunities: hiking, clambering, walking, sailing, cycling, horse-riding, canoeing, kayaking or skiing. In its capital, Hannover, Herrenhausen Gardens include the baroque Great Garden and English landscape gardens. The Lower Saxony State Museum displays art from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. The city of Braunschweig is home to the rebuilt medieval Dankwarderode Castle and the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum, with its vast collection of European art.

Lower Saxony

The museum railway Bruchhausen-Vilsen - Asendorf is the first museum railway in Germany. It operates on all weekends from May to October and on the Advent weekends historic traffic on the 8km long narrow gauge line from Bruchhausen-Vilsen to Asendorf. The driving is carried out predominantly by steam locomotives.
