With about 82 million inhabitants, Germany is the most populous member state of the European Union. When thinking of Germany, beer, lederhosen and Alpine hats quickly come to mind, but these stereotypes mostly relate to Bavarian culture and do not represent Germany as a whole. Germany is a vast and diverse country with 16 culturally unique states that have been politically united since 1871. Even within states there is often considerable cultural diversity.

It is Germany’s third-largest state in terms of size and population. The state’s capital and largest city is Stuttgart, home to the Wilhelma, a royal estate with a zoo and gardens. Porsche and Mercedes-Benz have established their headquarters and museums in this city. Hohenzollern Castle, built in the 19th century, is located south of the Swabian Alps.The Land has many other tourist attractions, including the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), the Lake Constance (Bodensee), the Swabian Alb (Schwäbische Alb), the Danube and some historic towns such as Baden-Baden, Konstanz, Heidelberg, Freiburg and in Brisgau, Tübingen and Ulm. The landscapes are very diverse, from the vast forests to the monumental lakes and rivers of the Land.

The Mauritius is known for its delicious salads with home-made pizza bread and our famous Mauritius dressing, extra large Mauritian pizzas and juicy turkey steaks. Of course, you can also just enjoy one of our specialty coffees on our terrace. An oasis with plenty of space for cozy lounging.
