In November 2013, the founders Hermann Maier and Gabriela Unbehaun-Maier in cooperation with the city of Singen opened a museum with a unique concept: on 1000 square meters, an exhibition space for precious vintage cars was created in dialogue with art. The swinging, earth-colored building itself is an invention of the architect Daniel Binder, who establishes a connection to the architecture of the Singen volcanic mountain Hohentwiel. The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung already compared the building with the Guggenheim Museum Bilbaos and certified it landmark potential. The two founders, even passionate lovers of art and oldtimers, had already made a big deal with the opening exhibition "Wachgesküsst": they showed automobiles of the famous Alsatian collection Schlumpf together with works of the Südwestdeutsche Kunststiftung, whose home is the MAC.
