Kuki Kino

The KUKI headquarters in the former synagogue in Schlüchtern was described by director Volker Schlöndorff as one of the most beautiful cinemas in Germany. Currently, the KUKI can not play in the former synagogue. Instead, the beautiful cinema and theater tent of the KUKI stands on the grounds of the Protestant church in Schlüchtern, Kirchstraße 32. The KUKI tent is run by the association KUKI e.V.

KUKI Schlüchtern is a non-profit association. Heide Buhmann, Andrea Fischbach, Uschi Treuherz, Hanspeter Haeseler, Monika Meyer, Fabian Röhrborn and Günter Bornholdt are all members of the extended board.

Every year, the synagogue offered 450 cinema events for all ages. Media work in close cooperation with schools and other institutions is important to us. The KUKI was awarded the Cinema Program Prize of the State Minister of Culture and the Hessischer Kinokulturpreis. Our annual summer open air series KUKI ON TOUR - CINEMA IN SPECIAL PLACES has become a cult.
