Hörnum (Sylt)

With about 82 million inhabitants, Germany is the most populous member state of the European Union. Germany's capital and largest metropolis is Berlin, while its largest conurbation is the Ruhr, with its main centres of Dortmund and Essen. Schleswig-Holstein is mainly a maritime region, with ports on the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Its largest port, Lübeck, is the historic capital of the Hanseatic League, which controlled commerce in much of northern Europe between the 13th and 17th centuries.
