Magdeburg

With about 82 million inhabitants, Germany is the most populous member state of the European Union. Germany's capital and largest metropolis is Berlin, while its largest conurbation is the Ruhr, with its main centres of Dortmund and Essen. The country's other major cities are Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Leipzig, Bremen, Dresden, Hannover, and Nuremberg. Elevation ranges from the mountains of the Alps in the south to the shores of the North Sea in the northwest and the Baltic Sea  in the northeast. When thinking of Germany, beer, lederhosen and Alpine hats quickly come to mind, but these stereotypes mostly relate to Bavarian culture and do not represent Germany as a whole. Germany is a vast and diverse country with 16 culturally unique states that have been politically united since 1871. Even within states there is often considerable cultural diversity.

Its capital is Magdeburg and its largest city is Halle (Saale). Saxony-Anhalt covers an area of 20,447.7 square kilometres and has a population of 2.23 million. It is the 8th largest state in Germany by area and the 10th largest by population. Saxony-Anhalt is full of good surprises for visitors. The beautiful Harz mountains, with its half-timbered villages and majestic castles, is one of Germany's most touristic regions. The many castles and English-style parks and gardens around Dessau are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, like the Bauhaus buildings in Dessau. The Saale-Unstrut Valley, in the south-eastern part of the state, produces most sparkling wines from Germany. Sachsen-Anhalt is a fascinating destination for nature lovers and physical activity enthusiasts.

Welcome to the Old Theater at Jerichower Platz
In the twenties, the house was built as a riding hall. Subsequently, it was used as a cinema, before it was rebuilt in 1994 to a full theater. Since March 2006, the house is operated by the Altes Theater am Jerichower Platz gGmbH as a multifunctional event center. The Old Theater is located in the immediate vicinity of Elbauenpark (site of the Federal Garden Show 1999) and the exhibition center of the state capital Magdeburg. In-house catering is possible. Two fully equipped bars are available. Mobile bar systems for the auditorium are available in the house. Also, a gastronomic supply can be ensured on the outdoor area.
