Théâtre de Grasse

Labeled "subsidized theater for dance and new circus", the Grasse Theatre plays a major role in the dissemination, creation and co-production of contemporary writing. Theater, dance, circus, music through its programming in its walls and outside the walls (in the neighborhoods, in capitals, outdoor ...) it helps support independent companies, awareness of all public and enhancement of active and inventive approaches. In this sense, he made the "artistic companionship" one of its priority actions, including through artist residencies, ensuring a plurality of aesthetic and companies, regional, national or foreign. An accompaniment to multiple faces, as projects envisaged by the artists, takes the form of creation, dissemination or public awareness campaigns in the city, but also in the territory of the Community of agglomeration Azur Provence. By choosing to host headliners and young emerging talents, the Theatre of Grasse invites us to explore here marked trails, back roads there, always animated by the sense of being primarily a "ferryman" between artists and spectators. Assured transmission, in addition to shows, the multiplication of meeting opportunities between artists and audiences: before or after performances, a drink or a meal at open rehearsals on the occasion of workshops discoveries and practices (amateur or professional) framed by the artists scheduled ... For younger children, the Grasse Theatre was set from the outset an important educational mission by first proposing a program of shows intended for them. The educational and cultural service of the theater works closely with schools, from kindergarten to higher education, particularly in the context of arts education systems of the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Education.
