Joined scenic and historic site of Dordogne, the noble lair Fratteau, old castle was the stronghold of Bertin in the eighteenth century. Patiently relieved of ruins over the past 30 years, the site has retained the charm and authenticity. The guided tour by the owner starts with a journey into the underground refuge (single cluzeau in Perigord). From there, the visitor emerges into inhabited and furnished rooms, to the medieval kitchen to the great room. Nearby, a potter's workshop Périgourdin was reconstituted as it formerly existed on the premises. The whole is dominated by the castle mound which can do the trick. To close, contemporary studio offers pottery made on site.
