
Created in 1857, the Soissons Museum was installed in the twentieth century in the buildings of two former abbeys. In Saint-Léger are the permanent collections. An archaeological journey of more than 5000 years of history of the Aisne valley, history of the city of Soissons, an important collection of art works of the seventeenth to the nineteenth century (Flemish, French and Italian ). The route is punctuated with contemporary works. The abbey church with its beautiful lapidary collection from Soissons and the region and the Romanesque and Gothic crypt to discover.
At Saint-Jean-des-Vignes, the site is the subject for several years significant work for the restoration of the historic building (west front, refectory, cellar and cloisters).
At Arsenal, the Museum organizes temporary exhibitions that make this former military building an important place of discovery of contemporary creation.
The site also has an Architecture and Heritage Interpretation Center (CIAP) welcomes you and guide you on this heritage site of exception, an archaeological center of the Valley of the Aisne, to Paints a study Centre Roman Wall and a Conservation Centre and Archaeological studies (AECB).

Carlo notebooks, games booklets for 9-12 years devoted to archaeological halls, local history, paintings and Saint-Jean-des-Vignes are available upon request to the home of Saint-Léger and CIAP.
