Musée de la gendarmerie et du cinéma de Saint-Tropez

Owner of the former gendarmerie building since 1934, the city restores the site to become a museum. The facade is retained and a building development is carried out to accommodate the visitors.

Its opening is planned for spring 2016, after 18 months of construction and scenic design.

The museum will themes:

• The history of the body of the Gendarmerie in Saint-Tropez and the building
• The myth and reality of Saint-Tropez through film   Interest in the former gendarmerie of Saint-Tropez is undoubtedly linked to the international fame of famous films on the series of gendarme. The City also wants to promote the rich history of cinema in Saint-Tropez, a still lively activity. Indeed, many films are still being shot each year in Saint-Tropez and its peninsula.

The museum presents the history of cinema tropézien and bring a new look and a reflection on this theme.   Besides the permanent exhibitions, the museum will also have a room for temporary exhibitions.
