Le Couvent des Cordeliers is situated on the Banks of the river Charente in the picturesque village of Verteuil-sur-Charente, to the North of Angouleme in the Poitou-Charentes region. It is on the pilgrimage route that leads from Tours to Santiago de Compostelle.
This is an easy day’s drive from the Channel ports and bordered by the market town of Ruffec and the beautiful village of Nanteuil-en-Vallee. It is an area rich in history and culture and, due to its mini climate, this is claimed to be the second sunniest region in France. It offers a wealth of attractions and places of interest for young and old.
