At the gates of Ecrins National Park, in a sumptuous setting of the Hautes Alpes, at the foot of glaciers and under the watchful eye of chamois, ermine, white hares and foxes, come visit our Nordic Area. You will evolve into "a world apart", preserved, a place that favors contemplation and where the mountain spectacle is sufficient in itself. 20 km of cross-country trails with diverse yet easy profiles are available to walkers and sportsmen in a wilderness site. This site is ideally suited to cross country skiing, snowshoeing to snow, sledging or walking and skating on natural ice rink. The tracks and trails are relatively flat, in the woods, valley bottom and in height to those circumventing the hamlet of Foot Col.

The sun skimming the peaks in the heart of Winter, so the site has an excellent snow, cold and light because the site is in the shadow of the mountains as well as exceptional snow throughout the winter season. In the heart of winter the area is sunny in the mornings from 9:30 à12h30, then when the February peak, the sunshine mornings lengthen slightly in March and there is even the sun until the beginning of afternoon!

ski-hockey match are organized every weekend except school holidays and all mornings during school holidays. There is no on-site equipment rental but you can find skis, snowshoes or sleds for rent to Villar d'Arene sports shops (Sports Judge) of Chazelet (Olym'Pic Sport) or La Grave (SkiSet). Ice skates on them can be rented on site at the cottage inn No Donkey (where you can also eat at any time and stay).
