A little history :
The cinema-theater "Le Palace", property of the town of Beaumont sur Oise (listed in the inventory of Historical Monuments since 21 September 1990) was built in 1914 using a metal frame of the 1900 World Exposition. It finally opened in 1928, still in the silent era. Originally, the room was in the form of a shed which had been hanging the projection booth at the front. The projectionist could only access from the outside, using a ladder. It was so successful (film, music hall, dancing, skating etc ...) in 1936, we added a balcony to arrange the projection room above the lobby. At the same time, we completely remodeled the facade, which is also characteristic of the art deco style of the 30s. It was in this room that Charles Aznavour gave his first recital. The singer and actor Eddy Mitchell has made several evenings of his show "Last session" which featured from 1982 to 1998, films from the fifties and sixties in terms of when the local cinema. The movie "Le Palace" was also used to film "La Cité de la peur" to flash back scene in black and white.
