In the historical part of the city of Nerac, the castle was built in the fifteenth century by Alain d'Albret the Great, the great-great grandfather of Henry IV. residence of the future Henry IV and his wife Queen Margot from 1577 to 1582, it shows the height of the Albret family and the court of Nerac in the Renaissance. The castle was dismantled in large part to the Revolution; and it remains today as the remarkable north wing and its inner tower. The ground floor houses an archaeological section of the Pays d'Albret having Neolithic objects in the Gallo-Roman era. Cultural Appointments throughout the year.
