VALMY, BATTLE OF THE REVOLUTION

  1. France was attacked on its borders with Austria and Prussia. The Duke of Brunswick, at the head of the allied army march on Paris account and reinstate the monarchy. Facing him, the general Dumouriez and Kellermann organize resistance in Argonne. The clash will take place on the hillside village of Valmy.

September 20, 1792, the morning Kellermann positioned his troops near the mill of Valmy. Facing him, 40,000 Prussians. All day, the artillery ton and it is a deluge of fire and steel that struck the hill. Galvanized by the enthusiasm of Kellermann and against all odds, the French soldiers hold the positions.
