On May 13, 2016, the Helsinki City Museum opened a new museum at the corner of the Senate Square in Torikorttele. The museum was built almost a half block from the oldest Helsinki, at the corner of Aleksanterinkatu and Katariina Street.

Older buildings, which were formerly used in office use, have been linked to a unique museum complex during a period of one and a half years of renovation. The museum experience continues in a block of atmospheric courtyards. Even the smallest of the family's favorite Children's Town is updated as part of a new museum. The first shows and other content will be more detailed in early 2016.

The museum also offers many other services, such as a photo archive and a variety of courses and events. Publishing is also an important part of the work of the museum.

More information on the City Museum and its events can be obtained by subscribing to an electronic newsletter at www.helsinginkaupunginmuseo.fi/uutiskirje.

There is always free access to the City Museum and its events.

The Facebook page of the City Museum is maintained by Reeta Holma, [email protected].
