Our history Gilleleje Golf Club is a member-owned club founded in 1970 and is therefore one of the country's oldest golf clubs. The club started with a small 5 hole course west of Gilleleje. Only one year later, it was decided to move, and then rented into the areas of Passebækgård. There was a 9 hole course and here you were from 1971 - 1987. The club had approx. 700 members and their greatest wish were to play on a real golf course - one with 18 holes, but the authorities were in the process of expanding the course. Therefore, it was once again decided to move - and the choice fell on the areas of Ferle, where the landslides belonging to Ferlegård and Leidemosegård could be used for an 18 hole championship course. Both buildings and land were bought in 1984 by the club's then chairman Erik Westermann who announced at the club's general meeting on April 17, 1987 that he and his wife Gerda Westermann handed over the two farms and the corresponding land, free of charge to the club 2nd Pentecost 1988 opened the first 9 holes and the following year the last 9 holes came. Our club Gilleleje Golfklub not only has a beautiful championship course but also a long tradition for a good sports and social environment. Members are proud of their club and the many thousands of green-fee guests who visit us annually say it's a great and positive experience to visit the club and play on our beautiful track. Gilleleje Golf Club is today a big and traditional club. We have good training facilities with professional golf coach, a super course, a nice and popular restaurant / bar, a golf shop with a wide range of equipment and clothing - and a wonderful club life.
