**Enjoy strolling through the grounds of Troja Chateau, one of Prague’s most beautiful baroque buildings. **

Walking by you’d think this is some sort of villa for a king or queen. Located near the Prague Zoo and next to the botanical gardens and vineyard it couldn’t be located in a better spot. There really is a lot to do in the area, so you can easily plan a fun packed day.

Once you’re in the ground of the Chateau, you’ll notice how organized and neat everything is. The garden out front with all its perfect cut hedges looks flawless. Almost something straight out of a movie. It’s incredible!

Inside the Chateau you will be able to find all sorts of art and even short term exhibitions can be found inside the castle which makes it worthwhile to go explore the insides of such a beautiful building. On top of that, there is a permanent exhibit that features 19th-century Czech art as well.

  • The history of the design and architecture behind this chateau is quite interesting. It’s French inspired with a twist of Greek mythology with all the statues. It makes it quite the unique building sitting right in suburban Prague.
  • A lot of restoration was done in the 20th century to keep the Chateau looking pristine. Now the Chateau is owned by the city of Prague and they do all the upkeep to preserve this historical place.
  • Inside the Chateau there will always be the permanent exhibit with Czech art and also a smaller one that changes from time to time.
