An island with skate and bike parks, alternative bars and nightclubs, and lots of green park space perfect for hanging out and admiring the view in the warmer months.

Grittier than the more central island of Střelecký Ostrov, Štvanice is home to lots of interesting local joints and activities for those wanting to see both the local and alternative scenes of Prague. The island is connected to both sides of the city by Hlávka's Bridge (Hlávkův most). To the westside of the bridge, you can find Bikepark Štvanice (an outdoor sports complex filled with ramps and jumps for bikers), Bike Jesus (an alternative bar which often hosts events at night and attracts a younger crowd), Fuchs2 (a techno nightclub located right behind Bike Jesus), Divadlo VILA Štvanice (a bar located in a charming little building), and Tygr v petrželi (a small community garden which can be found behind VILA). This side of the bridge is a great place to grab a drink in the warmer months from either VILA or Bike Jesus and then take a seat on the grass, admiring either the river and city views, or the bikers at the bikepark! And that's just one side of the island! To the east side of the bridge, you will find the Sitting Lady (a beautiful sculpture in the park, known as Sedící dívka), Restaurant Tiebreak (a restaurant serving classic Czech and international food), Slavoj (a no-fuss Czech restaurant), Mystic Skatepark Štvanice (a large indoor/outdoor skatepark), Zorb Football Prague (a field where you can play the unique activity of bubble football), and multiple complexes and stadiums for tennis matches. Of course, this side of the river also offers incredible views of the city and also has nice green areas for walking or lounging!
