**A large, historic wine festival in the Czech Republic, held each year in September in South Moravia's town of Mikulov. **
Some amazing wines come from the region of South Moravia and festivals are held each year at the Mikulov Wine Festival to celebrate the harvest of the grapes together! The largest and most famous of them is held each September in the town of Mikulov over the course of 3 days.
The town has kept the tradition of vine harvest celebrations for over two centuries. Now, the Mikulov Wine Festival also goes by the local name of Pálava Vine Harvest.
There are many activities that are held for the public to engage in such as a historical parade with hundreds of people dressed in folk costumes, performances of popular folk groups in the main square and concerts of famous Czech artists at the amphitheatre, a wine market at the chateau, a beautiful craft market in the chateau park, a prestigious wine competition, stalls with gastronomic specialities, and much more!
For kids, there are lots of games, fairytales, activities and other attractions. This is a great festival to connect with the culture and history of South Moravia - and to taste some delicious wines.
