Just 1 ½ hours east of Prague and 30 mins South of Kutná Hora, lies the fortress of Malešov. A place that truly has it all. What was once crumbling remains of the past has been revamped into a “jack of all trades” area of non-stop entertainment. Back in 2002, the property was bought and reconstructed with the hopes of saving the buildings and reviving the area for locals and visitors alike. Since its reconstruction, the fortress has been repurposed as a museum, bar and brewery, and even a spot for glamping (glamorous camping!).

The castle also organizes events such as business parties, weddings, and escape games. There is truly something for everyone who wants an authentic Czech experience with a fun, modern twist.

• Fortress Museum: Take a trip down memory lane, with interactive exhibits focusing on the culture of old times in Malešov. Great for history buffs. Book tickets on the official website
• Castle Glamping: Ever wanted to spend the night in a castle? What about outside of it? If glamping is something that sparks your interest, then we encourage you to check out the experience at Malešov--where glamping has been given a medieval twist! But don’t worry, the owners have made sure you not only have all of the essentials needed, but feel as if you’re sleeping in luxury. Each of the 8 tents has its own toilet, shower, and includes lanterns to accentuate the romantic atmosphere--not hard to do when sleeping under the stars! • Drink Different: This is the motto of the brewery on site. As Czech Republic is famously known for having great beer, we highly recommend checking out the revival of this ancient brewery, where they offer a variety of different beers made in Malešov. • Escape Game: Want to become the protagonist of a video game? Here at the fortress, you can try out an extensive escape game experience. Based on the classic video game, “Kingdom Come: Deliverance”, a group of live action characters will guide through the tasks that take 3.5 hours to complete! The creator of the game was ranked among the 25 best creators of escape games in the world in 2019--so you won’t want to miss out! Pricing is listed as 1590 CZK per person.
