Gradsko kazalište Žar ptica

The Town Theater Žar ptica, established 35 years ago, is a respectable Zagreb children's and youth theater, one of the most famous and most visited children's theaters in Croatia. In addition, 50,000 viewers and 300 performances of repertoire titles per year are based on the work of domestic and foreign classics as well as contemporary authors of children's literature.

In 2001, the theater launched the NAJ, NAJ, NAJ festival, the best children's theater in Croatia, which became international in 2007. From year to year The Best, Most, Best Festival is becoming an increasingly popular host from well-known theaters from all over the world. To the Zagreb audience during spring school holidays, the Festival enables them to enjoy the best in domestic and world theater productions free of charge.

Theater work was also marked by traditional humanitarian actions in September: "Welcome, dear primary school students to your Birds Bird Theater" and "Smile to Health" as well as "No Winters in Bird of War" organized each year in January during winter school holidays .

GK Žar ptica regularly participates in numerous domestic festivals, such as MDF in Šibenik, ASSITEJ Čakovec, Actors Festival in Vinkovci, SLUK Zadar, Mali Marulić in Split .... In the past decade, he has successfully achieved his international orientation, with remarkable performances at renowned international festivals in Egypt, Mongolia, Venezuela, Israel, Austria, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, USA, France, Switzerland, Hercegovina ...

Among the more than 80 awards, at domestic and foreign festivals, GK Žar ptica is the triple winner of the Croatian Children's and Children's Best Performances Award, 2002: (Fish and Fish Fairy), 2005 (Palčica), 2008. (Crime), 2013 (Sleeping Lives) and 2014 (Me and My Feelings)
