This place has many different adventures that can be interesting for travelers: it is home of the driest desert in the world as well as millennial glaciers in the southernmost part of the planet. And last but surely not least, is the lovely city of Santiago: modern, dynamic and organized… while still being a great place for relaxing thanks to its many parks and recreational areas.
Chilean people are warm and welcoming and the getting in touch with them is not difficult. On the other hand, people’s kindness and hospitality is something that surprises many visitors.
A fun fact about Chile: you can experience both summer and winter in the same day! During the southern winter, you can try out some of the best ski slopes in South America in the massive Andean mountains. Do it early in the morning and then hit the road: it’s only a two-hour road journey from the mountains to the ocean, where you can enjoy a delicious seafood dinner on the coast, with the breeze and atmosphere or warm summer nights!

Chile

If not much is ‘concretely’ left in those towns, the intangible heritage is as precious as it can get: many stories about a glorious past are told in this region, and many traces of people’s lives are an important testimony of how fast time can pass by. The heart of this area’s past is still pulsing today: the mining industry. Such industry contributes to more than 50% of the whole country’s output, and it counts for more than 90% or the region’s exports. Mining of lithium, gold and iodine is the main reason why this area is still populated and a business that attracts huge workforce from many different countries.
