The Teatro Municipal Teotônio Vilela, is a theater located in the city of Sorocaba, inaugurated on January 29, 1983.1. It is located in the Alto da Boa Vista Architectural Complex, which also includes the Tropeiros Palace, Sorocaba City Hall and Sorocaba Municipal Library. It is considered a postcard of the city and a reference for the cultural development of the city.

The Theater was built in an area of ​​450 m², composed of two scenic spaces, one internal, with 435 seats and 4 seats for people with special needs and an external space, the Municipal Theater Arena, with capacity for 600 people. All internal support areas of the two cen- tral areas are integrated through the Multipurpose Lower Dresser.

In the entrance hall of the Theater, it houses the collection of the Theater Museum, which preserves objects and documentation of the spectacles exhibited there. From this area it is possible to have a view of the brise-soleil in reinforced concrete that covers the main windows of the building and creates a private view of Lake Carpas.

Because it is attached to the Architectural Complex of the Municipal Palace of Sorocaba, the theater has a parking lot of 300 spaces of the complex, besides the constant availability of collective transportation in the place. All the audience as well as the waiting room has free internet system, Wi-fi.
