The Museu da Imaginação is a fun, playful cultural leisure space, installed in the Lapa district of São Paulo, since January 2017. The space offers a different proposal of leisure and culture for children, which explores the imagination through interactive art exhibits and play stations where children can play, use, jump, run and play freely.

They are two thousand square meters, divided in three environments totally dedicated to the free play, that offer diverse sensorial experiences. The issues, hypotheses and meanings are built by children, including those with special needs, without adult driving and with total autonomy in space. The museum offers trained monitors to be play facilitators, without intervening in the creative and imaginative process of children.

It is a 100% private initiative, the result of the dream and work of two enterprising friends and mothers, curated by educators and artists, such as Guto Lacaz, who created a permanent kinetic installation for the entrance hall of the museum.   Ticket purchase:

  • At the box office, in cash, debit card or credit.

Opening Hours

  • Tuesdays to Sundays: First shift at 10:00 a.m. Second shift, at 2:00 p.m.  

  • Duration of the visit: up to 3 hours.

  • Services: total accessibility with elevator, ramps, audiodescription and description in pounds, diaper, nursery, wi-fi, baby stroller parking and snack bar.

  • Agreed parking: R $ 20.00 per period, at Rua Ricardo Cavatton, 125.
