The National Square in Split (Pjaca) is a city square created by urban expansion of the city west of the Diocletian's Palace of Glass. This led to the removal of the main city square from the east to the west, making Peristyle a function of the cathedral square (Piazza del Duomo), that is, the main sacral square.
