**A three hour hike trek to the south of Brussels through local parks, forests and more. See nature’s hidden gems and relax away from the city. **

Starting in the charming district of Uccle near Brussels, the Stalle Loop is a 3 hour trek that takes you to the south of Brussels, to towns and villages, parks and bits of forests most tourists miss on their journey to the capital. At a healthy 13.5km (8.44 miles), this free hike is on flat ground and is suitable for beginner hikers.

When you think of Brussels, you probably imagine the bustling city and the urban parks. You’re not wrong! But Brussels has some unexpected nature just outside the big city perfect for a relaxing hike. Explore the less travelled on this super beginner friendly walk.

The loop begins in Drogenbos, just a 30 minute drive from Brussels. You’re in the suburbs now. Most of the hike circles around Linkebeek, a little town with plenty of nature on its borders. You’ll stroll through the cute local park of Schaveys, the Verrewinkelbeek river, and the mill house of Rose Molen.

  • Beginner friendly: With a max elevation of 563 ft, you’re not looking at any big hills or any difficult terrain. Really, this is an easy going walk for those looking for a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of Brussels.
  • Hidden gems: these towns and nature sights are to the south of Brussels, away from the tourist crowds and perfect for any slow travel trip. You’ll see local sights unknown to most travel guides, see locals walking their dogs, and enjoy a break from the city. Even city goers need a break sometimes! The Stalle Loop is about as convenient as you’ll get.
