Summer Factory (Zomer Fabriek) is a series of events in Antwerp. Throughout the summer they organise theatre, music, circus, graffiti - basically, you name it they do it. They’re always in unexpected places, so you’ll see music in tents and in the open air rather than concert halls. Summer Factory also does workshops so you can learn how to make the art you’re seeing. If you’re in Antwerp, especially during the summer, you should check out their events.

• From September to October they do an open-air cinema, music jam sessions, graffiti open calls, and much more
• Their open air cinema has screened critically acclaimed films in the past like Les Misérables (2019, directed by Ladj Ly) and Wild Rose (2018, directed by Tom Harper)
• In the autumn and November you’ll see circus-themed events like a roller skate derby and flying trapeze
• Does your kid love learning the latest dances? Let them channel their passion in the dance & circus camp (ages 6 to 12)
• Their workshops have included graffiti art, salsa dancing, and writing in the past so keep an eye on their website to see what they have on at the moment. You have to reserve a spot online
• Their main setup is in Berchem in an open air space + bar surrounded by cool graffiti walls. Fans of street art need to see it. They also do events in other areas of the city like Park Spoor Noord
• Their events are often free and held by residents of Antwerp. Berchem is one of the hot areas of local street art so check that out too!
