Local legend
Local legend says Pierre Hanai seals an underground tunnel straight to the centre of the Earth, where the devil once waited to catch new souls. The villagers of Weris started noticing weird signs; chickens were dead, people were fighting over nothing at all, and disease was rife.
The next morning, a little girl dressed in a totally white dress found eggs in the chicken hut. The villagers realised that the devil disliked white as it symbolises purity. Ever since then, Pierre Haina was painted white every year in the autumn equinox.
Getting There
Park in Weris village. You’ll walk just a little bit to the chapel, then turn left. Follow the signs that say “Pierre Haina** to find this rocky landmark.
