Go scuba diving at the indoor diving centre. Take a seat in the restaurant to see the mermaids swimming!

Deep dive into a watery wonderland at an indoor diving centre right on the edges of the Brussels-Capital region to Flanders. Home to the deepest diving pool in the world, Nemo 33 has diving spaces for experienced divers as well as newbies. Whether you’re here to hang out and watch the mermaids or really swim down into the depths, there’s something for you.

Never been diving before? There’s no better time to start than right now. Plus, at Nemo 33 all uncertified divers have to have a diving buddy. You’ll be looked after by a certified diver and trainer here who can give you all the tips you need to get started. This is about as close as you can get to tropical waters without leaving Brussels.

Fun fact: Nemo 33 did actually have the deepest indoor swimming pool in the world until 2014 when Italy took the title with the Y-40 swimming pool. Italy wins again, darn!

  • You don’t need to bring a wet or dry suit - the pools are pretty warm!
  • There’s quite a few cave-like areas in the pools at about 33ft (10m) down. If you’ve ever wanted to go cave diving, this is a good place to try it out without the dangers.
  • Nemo 33 has plenty of options for diving, though you’re limited to a few pools if you’re uncertified. You can pay the flat entrance fee and rent equipment to get diving or book a diving course for more detail. Getting a qualified instructor to teach a max of people for an hour is an extra 35€.
